Monday Arsenal round-up: Enough s**t for a sewer

In Arsenal FC on May 18, 2009 by Highbury N5 Editor

There really are so many shit stories in the media going around at the moment.

This isn’t going to be the longest blog known to man because I’m strapped for time and I don’t want to waste what little time I have dwelling over things that are made up, or are just not going to happen.

Story number one:

ROBIN VAN PERSIE’S talks over a new Arsenal deal remain deadlocked and if the situation is not resolved soon the club may cash in this summer.

A £70,000-a-week, four-year offer has been on the table for six months but Van Persie has continued to stall.

The offer doubles his pay but I understand the 25-year-old Dutchman’s advisor have been pushing for a deal closer to £90,000-a-week.

Incredibly, they also want a get out clause should Arsenal receive an offer of more than 5million

News of The World.

Right for starters van Persie expressed the need for the squad to keep together over the summer and how he owes Arsenal from plucking him from obscurity at Feyenoord where he had a bad relationship with the training staff and a bad attitude.

Twat rating: A good 9.5/10

Story number two:

Arsene Wenger’s summer transfer budget has been slashed to £13million by the board in a move that is likely to infuriate already iriate Arsenal fans.

Wenger, whose team last won a trophy in 2005, was given the news shortly before the noisy exchange with shareholders last Thursday, in which many fans questioned the manager’s judgment for the first time in his 13 years at the club.

Daily Mail

This just stinks of mischief making, is it a coincidence that it comes just days after this appeared in the same paper? Hmmm…

Twat rating: Again, a good 9/10

Story number three:

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted it would be “interesting” to work with Florentino Perez if the former Real Madrid president returns to the Bernabeu.

Perez, who is favourite to win the elections this summer, officially presented his candidacy on Thursday, promising the Madrid fans a “spectacular project” if he succeeds.

Daily Mail

You can always trust this perler to appear can’t you? I am reliably informed by someone that saw this interview with a French TV channel that there was nothing untoward said by our manager. Its basically just column filling.

Twat rating: Its the lowest of the low really, if all else fails bring up the Wenger to Madrid story. You have managed it, 10/10. Wankers.

Thats my take on todays paper stories. As you can probably tell, I’m not in the best of moods.

This story however, whilst uncertain, may well be true so I guess we will see what happens over the future weeks and months.

Right, thats it I am afraid. I will hopefully be in a better mood tomorrow morning!

’til then.
