£15 million bid rejected but 'negotiations continue'.

In Arsenal FC on January 23, 2009 by Highbury N5 Editor Tagged: , ,

Arsenal have had another bid rejected by Zenit officials, who met today to discuss the £15 million offer tabled yesterday.

It is looking increasingly unlikely that we are going to get The Owl now as greed has got the better of Zenit, i am sure that Arsenal will not go above the £15 million but maybe they are still negotiating the sums in which the transfer fee could be paid.

Zenit want the transfer fee on one lump sum whilst Arsenal will be keen to pay in installments.

Any updates and i will let you know.

  1. Arshavin is not woth 15 million. He will not deliver what is required at Arsenal. There are btter players at reasonable value available.

  2. I don’t believe this, just bloody sign him! he is quality! He will sort are going forward options we will be scared of again at the moment no one is scared of playing us!

  3. […] Ledley is a potential signing, another Cardiff player, this time a winger notes Le Grove.  Goonblogger confirms that the bid was rejected but notes that negotations are continuing.  There may be hope […]

  4. where have you sourced this news from?

  5. WHAT THE FUCK IS THESE BLOODY RUSSIANS STUPID OR SOMETHING ARSHAVIN IS A WORLD CLASS PLAYER BUT £15 MILLION IS WAY OVER THE TOP 13 IS THE MAX THEY SHOULD BE GREATFUL THAT THE BOARD ARE GIVING 15 BLOODY RUSSIANS U CAN NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AT ALL FORGET THIS MAN WENGER YOU SHOULD JUST GO FOR SOMEONE LIKE IBRAHIM AFFELLAY FROM PSV, FOR A FACT ARSENAL WILL NOT GO OVER BUT IF THEY DO I WILL BE DISAPPOINTED ASWELL I DONT CARE HOW MUCH HE IS WORTH GO DAMN IT !!! WE STILL WILL GO ON AND GIVE IN A BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE TILL THE END NO MATTER WHO DOES OR DOES NOT COME IN FUCKING RUSSIANS!!!!

  6. Hell Arsenal should have just got up, bowed their heads and thanked Zenit for their time after they rejected the 12M. We can take our money elsewhere if they want to play hard ball because it’s Zenit who are going to lose out financially if they want to keep stalling.

  7. where have you got this info from as you reported only an hour ago that the bid had been accepted…is this a reliable source?

  8. Dan, the original article saying the bid had been accepted was from a newspaper and i published it about 1’oclock in the morning GMT.

Its been 16 hours since mate

  9. Sorry about that i didnt see the link…have we not gone back to them with a 15 mil bid payable over two years since the 12m plus 3m in add ons though?

    sorry for confusion

  10. Yes we have, thats the bid rejected today.

Im pretty sure Zenit want the money in one go.

  11. ridiculous…they are clowns..what financial times do they think they are living in…clubs just dont work like that anymore…those days are gone and these russian fools need to change their ways or risk becoming a laughing stock…they are stuck in the dark ages with their demands and their shady deals..so frustrating!!!!

  12. yep… its not like they need the money, they are just trying to make a name for themselves and they are doing it the wrong way entirely.

Maybe our oligarch main shareholder could help…

  13. Why are people playin with our heads surely……after every hour zenit either accepts or denies our bids.so right now the 15million bid has been ‘accepteddenied’ huh?

  14. well thats the hope i always harboured as he is on the board on the company that owns zenit if i am rightfully informed. ANy soprt of intervention from him would surely help, however i feel we would be too pig headed to allow him into the negotiations..

They seem like such an unprofessional club who are so out of touch..shame really as they play decent stuff and were starting to make waves in europe..now just have no respect for them..

  15. plus they have had their replacement for arshavin, danny, at the club since the summer…ridiculous..

  16. Yes, and they paid 30mil for him, and he isnt really that great. It seems that they are reticent to get money in and more willing to spend the bloody stuff.

im fed up of all this now i have to say, i hate writing about it.

  17. it has been such a long drawn out experience, as most nof our deals seem to be of late which is slightly worrying. Funny that that should coincide with david dein leaving who would negotiate on all transfers.

  18. he still had his bad ones though, i think its jsut the clubs are being shites with us. Marseille wanted to do the Nasri deal after a certain date to avoid tax and we wanted it to go through istantly or so i was informed.

In this case Zenit are just being bastards.

  19. no matter what these greedy freaks want, they know they just have to sell arshavin and arshavin is desperate to come to arsenal so eventually the deal should happen. there are still around 10 days left so i am hopeful

  20. the thing i just dont get is that if they do not sell then he and his agent are determined to go on a free…so they are cutting off their nose to spite their face…idiots

  21. i know!

Zain, there is 2 days til the deadline Arsene set on the deal, and those two days are not business days/

  22. Zenit are a strange club, do they really not mind him buying out his contract later this year or is there another club sniffing around?

  23. who needs arshavin we got rosicky coming back

  24. When?

Do you know? Because i sure as hell don’t!!

  25. worried sick! i jst hope arsené has other targets coz i’m startin to think it’ll fall through. i need a really perfect word to qualify these despicably ungracious lot. wat’s arshavin’s stance? he seems d quiet sort. i askd a question earlier, does he like arsenal or jst needs a plce to keep his head above water.

  26. seems this was right!
